Melbourne has a tidy analogue: the Shrine of Remembrance “Shrine Vista” controls fix an eye-level sightline along St Kilda Rd so anything breaching the cone is cut, a bit like St Paul’s Heights from 1937 but focused on a single axial view. On a Southbank massing study, we just drew a 1.5 m-eye line from the Shrine forecourt in the model to sanity-check envelopes before pre-app, which saved a round of redesign. Small caveat: it keeps the axial read beautifully but can shove bulk into awkward terraces on side streets.
