Thoughts on curtain wall systems

I’m diving into curtain wall designs for a new project and I’m curious about the best materials for thermal efficiency. Last week, I read about using continuous insulation alongside aluminum frames, but I’m wondering if anyone has practical experience with this combination. What do you guys find works best for long-term performance?

Continuous insulation with aluminum frames has worked well for me, but don’t overlook the sealants used; they can make a big difference in thermal performance. I’ve found that using high-performance weatherproofing on the joints prevents leaks and improves efficiency over time. Have you considered what kind of sealants you’ll use?

I’ve had great success using low-E coatings on my glass panels to really boost thermal performance. Just make sure to balance aesthetics with efficiency — sometimes the best options aren’t the most visually appealing. Have you narrowed down any specific materials yet?
