Challenges of designing modern facades

Has anyone else faced significant hurdles with the structural integrity of curtain walls in their recent projects? I’ve been grappling with balancing aesthetics and functionality, especially with a large-scale residential build I’m working on… Would love to hear how others are navigating these challenges — it can be quite the juggling act.

It’s definitely a balancing act! I’ve found that involving structural engineers early in the design process helps bridge the gap between aesthetics and stability. They can offer insights that might save you some headaches down the line — how are you addressing this with your team?

I get that! It’s like trying to build a sandcastle that won’t wash away — there’s a fine line to walk. Have you thought about incorporating more modular elements for flexibility? @emerson_j55 has a great point about early collaboration with engineers.
